TOEI is considered the dean of custom frame builders in Japan, akin to Eisentraut and Jack Taylor. They are best known for exquisitely crafted lugged or fillet brazed randonneurs. They stubbornly do not build road racers or mountain bikes, but have been building French-style randonneurs for decades. They even manufacture replicas of period components such as the venerable Rene Herse stem and Cyclo derailleurs for the Francophile connoisseurs.
Their beautiful bikes are ridden by mature cyclists throughout Japan, including the Emperor of Japan. Their name is synonymous with the timeless quality and beautify that is unequalled.
